Affiliate Disclosure And Privacy Policy

This page holds our affiliate disclosure and privacy policy in one place. We compare Oslofjord cruises and send you to GetYourGuide or Viator to book; here is exactly how that arrangement works, what it costs you, what we collect and what we never touch.

Affiliate Disclosure

The short version: some links here earn us a commission, you pay the same either way, nobody pays to be featured, and the Oslofjord itself is open to anyone who takes a public ferry from Aker Brygge, whether you ever book a paid cruise or not.

Which Links Are Affiliate Links

Every "Check availability" button, and every in-text link that opens a cruise listing, points to GetYourGuide or Viator and carries our partner tag. Of the seven cruises compared here, six are sold on GetYourGuide and one, the short electric audio cruise run by The Fjords, is sold on Viator. If you book after clicking one, the platform pays us a share of the commission it already earns from the operator. Your price is identical to the price you would see going straight to that listing, because our cut comes out of the platform's margin and is never added to your ticket. That is the whole of it.

GetYourGuide and Viator are the only two partners on this site. There is no display advertising, no sponsored posts, no paid reviews, and no hotel or other booking links. If another network is ever added, this page and the footer disclosure will name it before the first link goes live, not after.

The Part Of An Oslofjord Day That Pays Us Nothing

Worth saying plainly, because for some travelers it is the better answer. Ruter, Oslo's public transport operator, runs city ferries from Aker Brygge out to the inner islands on an ordinary public transport ticket, and nothing about that earns us a cent. If scenery alone is what you are after and you do not need a guide, commentary or a meal on board, a public ferry gets you out on the same water for a fraction of any listing here.

What the paid cruises add is a longer loop than a commuter ferry runs, a live guide or audio commentary, and on the evening formats, a shrimp buffet on a wooden sailing ship, or a private boat with a tailored route. Where a public ferry is genuinely the better call, the guides say so. Even within the paid cruises, we lead with what a listing actually shows rather than pushing you toward the top of the range.

What It Does Not Change

Inclusion. Every cruise on the page is a real, currently bookable Oslofjord cruise. Seven listings are compared, spanning a silent hybrid-electric boat with a live guide, electric audio-guide cruises, traditional wooden sailing, evening shrimp-buffet sailings, a live-jazz evening and a private charter. One earlier comparison, a fjord-style dinner cruise run by Trollcruise AS, no longer has a working GetYourGuide page, so it is not treated as bookable and you should not plan around it.

Ordering. No operator can buy a position and none has been offered one. Where a section leads with one cruise, that cruise is chosen on the strength of its listing, not on what it pays, and you can check the ratings and review counts printed on the cards yourself. Where the same cruise is sold on both platforms, we show it once, through the listing with the most reviews.

What we say about them. A cruise with 150 reviews sits in the same lineup as a sailing cruise with 6,215, and the cards print both as they are. A thin sample keeps its real number rather than being rounded up; the private charter carries a 5.0 rating from three reviews, and the card says exactly that rather than hiding it. Where a listing's review summary flags a recurring complaint, such as travelers wanting louder commentary, that comes through too.

What we leave out. Where a listing shows no price we can verify, the card carries no number and sends you to the live listing instead of a converted guess. The silent boat and the jazz cruise are shown this way. A price you cannot confirm is not a price, and it would have paid commission exactly like the ones we could.

Things we earn nothing from. Ruter's public city ferries to the inner islands, a picnic you bring yourself, a walk along Aker Brygge with no boat at all. They still get their say wherever they beat a paid ticket.

Ratings, Review Counts And Prices

Every rating and review count on this site is the platform's own published number, read off the live listing. Nothing is averaged across platforms, rounded up or invented. The ratings here run from 4.2 to 5.0, on review counts that range from three on the private charter up to 6,215 on the most-reviewed sailing cruise.

Prices work the same way and come with a bigger caveat. What you see, where you see one, is a from-price in USD, the cheapest option on that listing, and only five of the seven publish one: from $46 for the short electric audio cruise up to $1,795 on file for the private charter. The remaining two, the silent boat and the jazz cruise, show no confirmed figure and their cards say "See listing". What you actually pay moves with the date, the option you pick and demand, so the live listing is always the authority.

If You Would Rather Not Use Our Links

Search the cruise on GetYourGuide or Viator directly, or find the operator's own website and book there. Each listing names the operator that runs it, and every one of these cruises can be found and booked without going through us. We would rather you got out on the water on whichever cruise suits you, or on a Ruter ferry if that is all you need. The comparisons, the cost notes and the guides work the same whether or not you ever click a booking link.

Privacy Policy

This is a static site. No accounts, no logins, no comments, no forms, and nothing is ever sold or paid for here, so there is very little to collect in the first place.

What We Collect

Google Analytics 4, once it is switched on, records aggregate visit data: which pages were viewed, roughly which part of the world the visit came from, what kind of device, and which listing links were clicked. That last one is the only measurement that matters to us, because it tells us whether a comparison actually helped somebody choose between a silent electric cruise and a traditional wooden sailing ship, or between a daytime sightseeing loop and an evening shrimp-buffet sailing. It exists to show us whether a page is useful, not to identify anyone.

We store no names, no email addresses and no payment details, because we never ask for them and have nothing to charge you for.

Cookies And Embedded Content

Google Analytics sets its own cookies. If a page embeds a map, it loads from that provider when the page renders, and the provider may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy rather than this one. When you click through to a listing, the booking platform sets its own cookie so that a booking can be credited back to this site. Those cookies belong to the platform and fall under its privacy policy rather than this one. The same goes for any operator site or official source you reach from here: once you leave, you are on somebody else's terms. The disclosure above names which platforms are involved and explains the arrangement.

What We Do Not Do

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses for security and abuse prevention. We do not query those logs to identify visitors.

Your Choices

Browser-level tracking protection, an ad blocker or a Do Not Track setting will each stop the analytics script, and nothing here breaks when they do. Every page works with JavaScript disabled apart from the mobile menu. If you would rather leave no tracking cookie behind at all, the disclosure above explains how to reach the same operators directly, by name.

Questions about any of this: email us at info@oslofjordcruises.com, or use the contact page. How the listings are checked in the first place is on the about page.
